Golden Globes Beauty

While many celebs kept it classic with standard red carpet beauty, a few took risks on the makeup front. Katy Perry went mod with a half-up bouffant, winged liner and a nude lip to match, while Jennifer Lopez went bold with an ultra-glossy lip. Keep clicking for the best in Golden Globes beauty.

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer must know that the secret to looking alert is a good, white eyeliner. For her red carpet makeup she dabbed a generous amount of white shimmer to her inner corners, and finished her look with thick, black liner and full lashes. To keep the focus there, nude lips and blushed cheeks complete the look.

Olivia Wilde

To match her sequin gown, Olivia Wilde took a beauty risk by matching her eye shadow to the color of her gown. When painting a dark color all the way around the eye like the actress, avoid a raccoon eye by defining the shape with black eyeliner on the top and bottom lash lines.

Emila Clarke

With supermodels Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne sporting half-up styles, it was only a matter of time until the style worked its way onto the red carpet. Emilia Clarke strikes a casual-yet-sophisticated vibe with her bouffant on top, waves on bottom style that works just as well for red carpet as it would a day at the office.

Eva Green

Eva Green's dark hair is striking against her alabaster skin. To play up a stark contrast like this, swipe on a classic red lipstick that will define lips and make other features pop.

Lily James

Retro curls are always expected, but a soft, polished wave, when done correctly, is one of the most underrated awards show styles. Especially with Lily James' golden highlights, the texture of her hair evokes an ethereal quality.

Zendaya

Zendaya always kills it in the makeup department, and her Golden Globes look measures up. Her all-around, nude palette, including bronzed eyes, a nude lip and contoured cheeks, taps into the '90s makeup trend that celebs can't seem to get enough of this season.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

There's not ever a time that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley doesn't look good, and even dolled up on the red carpet, she still manages to look natural. To glam up the natural look like the supermodel, keep your palette in the same sun-kissed color family with bronze skin, a bronze lip and bronze shadow.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox commanded attention with her dark, glossy lips. She strategically downplayed the rest of makeup and drew attention to her lips with the bold color, which we all know is a risk in itself to keep in place.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry is usually over-the-top, but she threw it back to the ‘60s for her Globes beauty look. To match her pantone color of the year, rose-quartz dress, a matte, pink lip tied her bouffant up-do and heavily-winged liner together for a cohesive, classy look.

Sophia Bush

By now we know that the sleek, middle part is here to stay, but other slicked back styles are equally as relevant. Sophia Bush styled her short bob by greasing it down in a deep, side part and gathering it in a spiked-poof that gives her classic look an edgy, modern appeal.

Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander's metallic, emerald green gown stunned. To accent her look, an ever-so-slight application of emerald shadow was expertly blended for an updated take on the smoky eye.

Rooney Mara

Rooney Mara is always one to take risks on the carpet, and her geometric, parted ponytail definitely counts. The top portion of her hair is slicked back and braided, and the bottom half is pulled into the braid halfway down. For the most original style of the night, Rooney wins.

Jennifer Lopez

Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to go big in the makeup department. Her ultra-shiny, red lip gloss stands out as a trend to try. The actress kept the rest of her beauty look simple with her signature, bronze glow and shimmery, champagne shadow accented at the inner corners of her eyes.
