Jewel Tones
Unlike most Golden Globes, black took a backseat to the rich, deep hues in the jewel-tone family.
Sequins
It may have seemed like the disco era was back with all the sequins we saw, but celebs like Kate Hudson, Olivia Wilde and Uzo Aduba modernized the look in simple, chic silhouettes.
Cut-Outs
Not the typical rounded midsection cut-outs, this year's skin-baring sections were unusual in size and placement.
Ruffles
Whether they were mini, like on Rooney Mara and Alicia Vikander's gowns, or much larger, like on Jane Fonda's frock, ruffles seemed to be the design detail du jour.
