The Girls Are Back!

Where Netflix leads we will follow...especially when they are resurrecting one of TV's most beloved  series.

The online streaming giant officially announced the return of Gilmore Girls on Jan. 29 nearly breaking the Internet. While no premiere date or official title have yet to be released, production has already begun on the highly anticipated revival, and E! News has rounded up every bit of information so far.

So grab a cup of coffee (Don't tell Luke!) and dig in...

Four Seasons and a Revival

Each 90-minute outing will be titled after a season, beginning with "Winter," and ending with "Fall," taking us through a full Gilmore year. (Not enough time!) It'll be set in present-day, eight years after the finale.

They're Back

The four main stars set to return for the revival are Lauren Graham (Lorelai!), Alexis Bledel (Rory!), Kelly Bishop (Emily!) and Scott Patterson (Luke!). And, after exciting the series before the seventh and final season, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will write and direct all the new episodes, along with her husband Daniel Palladino.

Supporting Players

In addition to the four main players, fans can definitely expect to see Keiko Agena (Lane!) and Sean Gunn (Kirk!) return, along with Emily Kuroda (Lane's mom).

Sookie Will Be Back After All

After endless back and forth (and constant debate over whether or not she was actually asked to return), Melissa McCarthy announced on Ellen that she will be a part of the revival, and a thousand Stars Hollow-loving hearts finally felt whole again.

RIP Richard

In an interview with TVLine, Lauren Graham confirmed the revival will address the loss of Edward Herrmann, who played the family patriarch, Richard Gilmore.

"There's a line [in the script] about how time has passed and how that feels… and hanging over all of it is the absence of Ed…which, obviously the [revival] addresses," she said. "But that's where we're all starting from, and it feels so real. It's hard to be here without him."

Paris Is Returning

Liza Weil, who perfectly played Paris for all seven seasons, confirmed to E! News  that she will appear in two episodes of the revival.  "It's very emotional to read them," she said. "It's like a really magical perfect time machine. I'm very happy to be a part of it."

And Kelly Bishop told TVLine, "It's unbelievable what Amy has written for Paris. People are going to have so much fun with it." (She also revealed Gyspy will be back, too!)

Paris' boyfriend, Doyle (Danny Strong) will also be back.

Rory's Love Life

So...is Rory with any of her three main love interests (first love Dean, bad boy Jess or college BF Logan) when we catch up with her eight years after the finale?!

"She's…single in the sense that she's not married," Amy Sherman Palladino revealed to TVLine. "But she's dating like any young woman with that face would be."

Dean's In!

You never forget your first love, especially if he's played by Supernatural star Jared Padalecki! Padalecki will reprise the role of Dean Forester, Rory's first BF, in the revival, though unfortunately it's only for one scene, and according to David Sutcliffe (Rory's dad, Christopher), Rory and Dean are not destined to be.

Jess Is Back, Too!

Milo Ventimiglia has officially signed on to reprise the role of Rory's bad boy ex, Jess, and spilled to TVLine that he will appear in three epsiodes.

So Is Logan!

Matt Czuchry was the first of Rory's three main exes to sign on for the revival, reprising the role of her college BF Loga, who proposed in the series finale.

Dad's Home

David Sutcliffe is confirmed to return as Christopher, Lorelai's ex-husband and Rory's dad. We assume Luke is less than thrilled.

Checking In

Yanic Truesdale revealed on Twitter that he will be reprising the fan-favorite role of the eternally grumpy Michel, Lorelai's longtime employee at the inn. "Happy to be back and reconnect with my old pal Michel," he wrote. "Feeling blessed and excited!"

Stars Hollow's Resurrection

Filming began Feb 2 in Los Angeles, on the Warner Bros. lot aka the original home of Stars Hollow, with crew beginning to recreate the idyllic town back in early January.

And fans actually got to see some of the sets return a little early during Grease: Live on Jan. 31, including Miss Patty's Dance Studio.

Rory's a Teacher?

A few photos from the revival have been released, and they're quite revealing. Does this look like Chilton to anyone else?

Luke and Lorelai: Still Together

We're taking this hand holding as a great sign that Luke and Lorelai (Lukelai? Loreluke?) are still going strong all these years later.

Roll-Out Plan

While Netflix's model is to release all of its series' episodes all at once, Amy Sherman Palladino told TVLine she hopes they don't do that with Gilmore's return. "My preference would be they would not be released at once, because I feel like there's going to be anticipation, and I think the diehard fans would enjoy it more with a little separation," she explained. "So my preference would be to release them at least a day apart. Let people get a little sunlight and go for a walk around the corner. We have not spoken to Netflix about it, so I don't know what their thought process is yet. But we're planning to throw it out there."

The Last Word(s)

Yes, fans will finally get to know what Amy Sherman Palladino's much-discussed and almost mythical final four words of the series are, with Lauren Graham telling TVLine she and Alexis Bledel both say them but not in "unison," confirming it's an exchange. Let the speculation begin!

Still Open for Business

Eight years later and Luke's Diner is still serving up your daily cup of coffee and curmudgeon-y service, per Scott Patterson's Twitter.

Oh. Yay.

April (Vanessa Marano) will be there too, which is fine we guess. We would have been even more fine with forgetting Luke's daughter ever existed, but this is cool too.

Newbies

How about some intel on the new characters we'll be meeting? There's Berta and Alejandro, a Peruvian couple. Alejandro is both a handyman and a solid family man. Plus, we'll meet Nat Compton, an incredibly miserable looking man who never smiles. Oh, and 13-year-old Dewey, Clementina, a Portuguese nanny, 7-year-old Tim and his 5-year-old sister Gabriela, 9-year-old Korean-American twins Stevie & Kwan and a whole bunch of hippies at a commune. Intrigued? There's more!

Finally, there's the pleasant 30-something Paul, a Michael Cera type described as "a good boyfriend," the older high-end men's magazine editor Jim, the blue-collar Dwayne, and the good-looking, eager 20-something Damon.

Bunhead On Board

Sutton Foster, star of Amy Sherman-Palladino's short-lived Gilmore-esque series, will be popping up in Stars Hollow for the Stars Hollow musical! Yes, you read that right: the Stars Hollow Musical.

Stars Hollow, Meet River Song

Doctor Who, Arrow, and E.R. star Alex Kingston will be appearing in more than one installment of the revival, playing a "very eccentric character," as she revealed at the the Florida Supercon on July 2.
