What It's About: Community and The Soup's Joel McHale stars as an adventure reporter who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of milennials in the digital department of his magazine in this multi-cam comedy. Ugh, milennials, right? Also set to star are Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin'!), Stephen Fry, Chris Williams, Christine Ko, Shaun Brown and Susannah Fielding.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 19. "Sorry, I'm just such a Millennial that I wasn't able to look up from my iPhone long enough to really formulate an opinion on this sitcom." -- Tierney Bricker
18. Man With a Plan (CBS)
When It Premieres: Monday, Oct. 24 at 8:30 p.m.
What It's About: Friends star Matt LeBlanc makes his return to network TV in this sitcom about a contractor who starts spending more time with his kids after his wife goes back to work in this multi-cam comedy. How you doin'?!

What It's About: From Parenthood and Friday Night Lights' Jason Katims comes this medical drama will follow a young Silicon Valley tech titan (Augustus Prew), who recruits a veteran surgeon with a shady past (Dermot Mulroney) to start a cutting edge hospital, that takes a "new school" approach to medicine.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 17. "There's nothing groundbreaking happening here despite the whole premise being "look at this cutting-edge technology and cool computer graphics we made to go with it!" It's a hospital procedural, and a boring one at that." -- Jean Bentley

Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 16. "This is basically just The King of Queens: 10 Years Later, yet without an ounce of growth or maturity. And that just isn't cutting it for me. The CBS audience will probably eat it up." -- Billy Nilles
15. Bull (CBS)
When It Premieres: Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m.
What It's About: Inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw (who serves as an EP along with his son, Jay McGraw, and Steven Spielberg), the drama will follow the brash, brilliant and charming Dr. Bull (NCIS' Michael Weatherly) as he combines psychology, human intuition and high tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 15. "This is everything you have come to know about the network, for better and for worse. A fine star vehicle for Michael Weatherly and fans of him will dig this drama full of stereotypical characters. It's slick, naturally, and full of tropes, naturally." -- Chris Harnick
14. The Exorcist (Fox)
When It Premieres: Friday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m.
What It's About: Geena Davis returns to TV for this movie adaptation! Her daughter is different and strange things are happening...strange demonic things.

13. Lethal Weapon (Fox)
When It Premieres: Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m.
What It's About: Another take on a movie, this one stars Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans as the mismatched detectives who go on action-packed adventures.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 13. "Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans have great chemistry. This pilot was full of buddy cop clichés, but then again it is Lethal Weapon, so if that's your bag, you won't be disappointed here." -- Chris Harnick
12. Son of Zorn (Fox)
When It Premieres: Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8:30 p.m.
What It's About: What would happen if Cheryl Hines' ex-husband is He-Man, voiced by Jason Sudeikis? That's basically this strange (yet beautiful) show, that mixes animation and live-action.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 12. "I genuinely don't know what to do with this show. It's really funny, but the mix of animation with real life makes me oddly uncomfortable." -- Lauren Piester

10. Conviction (ABC)
When It Premieres: Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m
What It's About: We'll miss Agent Carter forever and always, but Hayley Atwell takes on a edgier role as a former First Daughter-turned-bad girl attorney in this Scandal-esque drama.

When It Premieres: Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 8:30 p.m.
What It's About: Previously titled The Second Fattest Housewife in Westport, the comedy stars Mike & Molly's Katy Mixon as Katie Otto, a confident, unapologetic and "plump" mother and wife, who moves her dysfunctional family to the wealthy town of Westport, Conn., which is filled with "perfect" families. Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 9. "So I went into this one a bit skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised. Katy Mixon has charm for days, and it's on full display here. Still, some of the jokes are a little predictable." -- Tierney Bricker
8. No Tomorrow (The CW)
When It Premieres: Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.
What It's About: Joshua Sasse and Tori Anderson star in this romantic comedy with an apocalypse twist.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 9. "No Tomorrow follows in the footsteps of Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and mostly lives up to its predecessors. Plus, it stars Joshua Sasse, who is worth the price of admission alone. Have you seen the guy?" -- Billy Nilles

The series that will take a provocative look at the unique, sexy, and dangerous interplay of criminal law and the media.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 7. "There's a reason this super-fun, soapy legal/newsroom drama earned a spot between two of your favorite Shondaland shows—it's because it's got that same fun, sexy TGIT vibe. I can't wait for more." -- Jean Bentley

Oh yeah, it's set in heaven.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 4. "The Good Place is the best place. It's somewhere between Community-surreal and Parks and Recreation-sweet, and could be on its way to being just as loved as both of those shows." -- Lauren Piester

What It's About: Fox's new baseball series follows the first woman to pitch in Major League Baseball. Kylie Bunbury, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Dan Lauria and Mark Consuelos star.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 3. "Easily one of the most promising pilots of the fall, I found myself caring about Pitch and I don't care about sports! Kylie Bunbury is the breakout star you've been waiting for and you'll be hard-pressed to refer to Mark-Paul Gosselaar as the former Saved By the Bell star after this." -- Chris Harnick

Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 3. "I will watch every single minute of this show, which I think had one of the top three pilots of the year. It started out sort of like the beginning of Battlestar Galactica, except, like, not in space and with 100% more Kiefer Sutherland." -- Jean Bentley

Smallville's Justin Hartley is just icing on the cake.
Our Ranking and What We Thought: No. 1. "Thank you, NBC, for filling the Parenthood-sized hole in my heart. This Is Us is, without a doubt, the fall's most emotionally engaging, moving pilots." -- Billy Nilles
