Best known for his decades-spanning role as Lee Baldwin on the soap opera General Hospital, Hanson died Apr. 9 in Santa Clarita, Calif. He was 95. Hansen—also known for his work in the films Dragonfly and When Worlds Collide—is survived by two children and three grandchildren.

O'Neill, the founder of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, died at age 61 after a battle with chronic illness. "The entire Trans-Siberian Orchestra family, past and present, is heartbroken to share the devastating news that Paul O'Neill has passed away from chronic illness," a rep said Apr. 6. "He was our friend and our leader—a truly creative spirit and an altruistic soul. This is a profound and indescribable loss for us all."
Darlene Cates
The actress, best known for playing the mother in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, died March 26 at age 69, her daughter said. Author and screenwriter Peter Hedges discovered Cates after she was featured in an episode of Sally Jessy Raphael's talk show titled "Too Heavy to Leave Their House." After her breakout role in the film adaptation, Cates appeared in episodes of Touched by an Angel and Picket Fences, as well as the made-for-TV movie Wolf Girl.
Chuck Barris
At age 87, Barris died March 21 of natural causes at his home in New York. Best known for hosting the popular 1970s game show The Gong Show, Barris later created The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game. He claimed to have been an assassin for the C.I.A., as chronicled in his 1984 autobiography, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The book became a movie in 2002.

The singer, famous for disco hit "We Are Family," passed away at 60-years-old on March 10. "Her death was due to natural causes which arose from complications from a pre-existing condition," her family told E! News in a statement.

On March 6, TCM announced that the film historian, journalist and longtime Turner Classic Movies host had died at age 84; no other details were immediately available. "Robert was embraced by devoted fans who saw him as a trusted expert and friend," TCM's Jennifer Dorian said. "His calming presence, gentlemanly style, encyclopedic knowledge of film history, fervent support of film preservation and highly personal interviewing style all combined to make him a truly world-class host."
