1. Milla Jovovich, Resident Evil

The zombies? Spawned from a virus outbreak. The heroine? An amnesiac commando of the Umbrella Corporation named Alice. She's badass and, oh yeah, super sexy. Which might be why the series has about a bajillion sequels.

2. Cillian Murphy, 28 Days Later

The zombies? Everyday Londoners infected with a "Rage" virus. The hero? Jim, a guy who wakes up in a hospital 28 days after the flesh-eating pandemonium began. Good thing he has those baby blues to protect him from the undead.

3. Emma Stone, Zombieland

The zombies? Cannibals created by a mutated strain of mad cow disease. The heroine? Wichita (aka Krista), a con artist and killer big sister with gorgeous green eyes. No wonder she's able to woo Jesse Eisenberg's cautious hunter.

4. Danai Gurira, The Walking Dead

The zombies? Human-eating (or -infecting) "walkers," as they're commonly called. The heroine? The katana-wielding Michonne, a mysterious woman who arrives towing two armless, jawless zombies. Pretty and deadly? Lethal combo.

5. Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead

The zombies? At least one is bitten by, what he calls, "some crackheads." The hero? Not your conventional zombie hunter: Shaun, an uninspired (but adorable!) salesman who forgoes his everyday problems and fights to stay alive.

6. Rose McGowan, Planet Terror

The zombies? "Sickos" infected by the biochemical agent DC2. The heroine? Grindhouse's Cherry Darling, a go-go dancer whose leg is torn off and replaced with a machine gun. She certainly turns heads (and removes some too!)

7. Mekhi Phifer, Dawn of the Dead

The zombies? Not the usual inhabitants of a Midwest mall. The hero? Andre, who, during the remake of the 1978 classic, must deal with his pregnant wife becoming infected. (That's right: Zombie baby!) But he looks good doing it!

8. AnnaLynne McCord, Day of the Dead

The zombies? Armed with superhuman strength and the ability to crawl on ceilings (thanks to another government-created virus gone awry). The heroine? Nina, who survives by torching her undead foes to see another beautiful day.

9. Andrew Lincoln, The Walking Dead

The zombies? Reanimated dead folks dubbed "walkers." The hero? Sheriff Rick Grimes, who, with his charming Southern accent, brings a touch of class to the post-apocalyptic, infested world. And we love a man in uniform.
