Nava, who made history as the first Latina transgender actress to be nominated in her category, also included a note on what it means to her.

Most importantly, I am thankful to my peers for not only bestowing me with this nomination, but celebrating this groundbreaking moment for the Trans community at large. And Kali, who made history as the first of two Indigenous women to be nominated for her category, Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie, reflected on her identity.

Liza Colón-Zaya, The Bear
Thank you so much for all the love, all the fans and viewers, and the Television Academy for the showing of The Bear," Liza said in an Instagram video shared July 17. "I did not expect this. This is why my video is so late. 23 Emmy nominations. Mind blowing. Shoutout to all of my cast members who have also been recognized."
Liza also congratulated her fellow cast members—including fellow nominees Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss Bach-Rach—and the show's creator Chris Storer.
