Going Under the Knife

On Dec. 5, the couple were guests on the Wendy Williams Show to discuss Giuliana's cancer battle. The 37-year-old star announced that she decided to undergo a double mastectomy and immediate reconstructive surgery. "I'll be able to say that I survived something major and it's made me stronger," she told E! News. "I will be a better woman for it."

The C-Word

The couple, seen here in a tender moment, found out that Giuliana was in the early stages of breast cancer during a mammogram while undergoing in vitro fertilization for the third time. She announced the news on the Today show on Oct. 17 this year, but had a very positive outlook. "I still want this baby...because this baby has saved my life," she said. "I truly feel God was looking out after me—if I had gotten pregnant later down the line, I could have been a lot sicker." Three days later, her hubby said, "She's a trouper, she pulled through it," after she underwent a double lumpectomy.

Book 'Em

The couple that writes together, stays together? Bill and Giuliana cowrote the tome I Do, Now What?: Secrets, Stories, and Advice from a Madly-in-Love Couple, and signed copies with their dog, Paulie, at a Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles in Oct. 2010.

Family Matters

The couple reveal their struggles to conceive on their reality show. In March 2010, Giuliana became pregnant through in vitro fertilization, but tragically miscarried eight weeks later. A subsequent attempt at IVF in November 2010 was unsuccessful. Despite their turmoil, they weren't letting themselves get too down, turning up for the opening of a Sprinkles cupcake store in Chicago in July 2010.

Better Late Than Never

Five months after tying the knot, the newlyweds finally escaped to a very active Caribbean honeymoon, where they stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Instead of lounging and relaxing, they went rock climbing, lifted weights and went on runs during their trip. "Strange, right?," Giuliana told OK! magazine. "We came home healthier and in better shape than when we arrived."

Husband and Wife

The E! News anchor dished to MyStyle, "Bill and I enjoy our first half hour of married life overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Those rocks behind us are one of the most famous landmarks in Capri." The couple had to postpone their honeymoon, however, because of work commitments.

Ciao, Italia

On Sept. 1, 2007, Bill and Italian-born Giuliana swapped vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony on the Italian island of Capri as 190 guests looked on. The bride wore a strapless beaded Monique Lhuillier gown while the groom donned a black tuxedo and white bow tie custom-tailored by Giuliana's dad, who's a tailor in Maryland.

They're Betrothed!

The couple became engaged in December 2006, when Bill popped the question during a romantic helicopter ride over Chicago. A limo had taken Giuliana from the airport straight to a helipad, where her man was waiting with her favorite pizza and a bottle of bubbly. Awww, how romantic!

How It All Began

Bill and Giuliana met when she interviewed the Celebrity Apprentice star for her show E! News. But he didn't have the nerve to ask her out until the final interview in 2006: "I was too chicken to ask her out on date so I asked her to go running sometime. She said, 'Yeah we can go running or we can have dinner and drinks.' I was instantly in love," he told Forbes.com.
