George Clooney's Car: $100,000
George Clooney recently auctioned off his prized 2008 Tesla "Signature 100" Roadster for charity. The all-electric roadster was the eighth Tesla ever produced and snagged more than $100,000 for the Satellite Sentinel Project, a charity Clooney co-founded that tries to prevent war between Southern and Northern Sudan. He also snagged one of the first-ever Tango T600s, a super-thin electric car that goes for about $108,000.
Beyonce's Rock: $5 Million
Men, if you're going to pop the question during the holidays, take a close look at Beyoncé. No, not there. Gentlemen, take a look at her finger. The flawless, 18-carat, emerald cut, $5 million rock that Jay-Z put around Beyoncé's digit back in 2008 still stands out as one of the most envy-inducing sparklers in celeb engagement ring history. We like Jen's new ring, too. But that Lorraine Schwartz design says Jay-Z liked it, and, boy, did he put a ring on it.
John Mayer's Watch: $500,000
Andy Warhol said we'd all be famous for 15 minutes. If John Mayer ever worries whether his time is up (as if), he can consult any of vintage and designer watches in his vast collection—including quite a few Patek Phillipe watches, which can fetch as much as $500,000 each.
Mariah Carey's Rolls Royce: $400,000
Mariah Carey was all a-Twitter about the $400,000 Rolls Royce Phantom hubby Nick Cannon got her last year for Christmas. She tweeted: "Still getting over my Christmas gift from @NickCannon. License plate:mommyMC : )" The sweet ride comes with premium leather, rain-sensing wipers, and heated mirrors. And thanks to 19-month-old passengers, Monroe and Moroccan, we're pretty sure Cheerio crumbs are now also a standard feature.
A Cloned Puppy: $155,000
A Florida couple paid $155,000 to clone their beloved Labrador retriever Sir Lancelot, after the dog died of cancer four years ago. While that may be the world's most expensive hound, the couple has seen some serious return on their investment: Lancelot Encore, as the cuddly copy is called, sired eight puppies this summer.
Trip to Space: $200,000
Stars like to hang out with other stars. Maybe that's why so many celebs have signed up for Virgin Galactic's commercial flights into space. Ashton Kutcher, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Katy Perry and Tom Hanks have plunked down deposits for the sub-orbital trips that start at $200,000. First flights are expected to take off in 2013. So after the New Year, those stars you see in the sky might be more than just giant balls of gas.
Kate & Wills' Vacay: $21,000+ Per Week
When celebs want to get away from it all, they have to go pretty far. On the islands of the Seychelles, 1,000 miles off the coast of Kenya, the closest thing to paparazzi are flocks of exotic birds and sea turtles. Bill Gates, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have all luxuriated on the islands' exclusive fine sand beaches. The islands' private villas come with a personal butler and private chef who caters to your every gastronomical whim. If you're debating between the Seychelles and San Antonio for your next romantic getaway, here's something to keep in mind: the average rate is $3,029 per night.
Tom Cruise's Plane: $28 Million
Holidays can be stressful after a big breakup. If taking a walk around the block to clear your head seems too, well, pedestrian, you could always follow the lead of Tom Cruise and soar away from it all in a $28 million Gulfstream IV. With a feature that refreshes the air inside his cabin every two minutes, Cruise's private jet ensures the Top Gun always gets some fresh air—even at 6,000 feet.
Barack Obama's Smartphone: $3,300
When President Barack Obama has something to text, he thumb-types it on $3,300 smartphone. ('mideast drama :) TTYL!") Obama's phone is one of only two types that can tap into the super-secret SIPRNet, the Secret Internet Protocol Router Network that only people with top-security clearance can use. But there's no word yet from the White House as to whether you can play Angry Birds on that thing.
Ann Romney's Horse: Priceless!
Rafalca, the 15-year-old mare and Olympic hopeful owned in part by Ann Romney failed to make the cut at the summer games, but she won the public over with her pretty chocolate coat and raven tail. While her price tag has never been disclosed, it is believed to be in the six figures. And her upkeep costs more than most families of four spend in a year: In 2010, the Romneys reported a $77,000 loss on their tax returns for their share of Rafalca.
