His artificial man with scissors as hands defines freaky, but he's so endearing and downright tender with those eyes! Still, Johnny in that dominatrix outfit, with the crazy hair and cuts all over his skin...freaks...you...out!
2. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The minute Depp's candy-wiz Wonka comes onscreen, you can't help but say to yourself, "WTF?" His creepy smile and awkward glances, not to mention the Suri Cruise haircut, kind of make you feel sick. And not in a good, too-much-taffy kind of way, either.
3. Alice in Wonderland
In another Tim Burton movie (surprise!), Depp's the Mad Hatter. And you don't need to see it to know: It's freaky. Have you peeped the guy's intense makeover? From the hair to the gapped teeth and the insane eyeballs, our Johnny is long gone!
4. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
This movie's a trip—literally. As journalist Hunter S. Thompson on the hunt for the American Dream, Depp accessorizes with drugs, drugs...and more drugs. Oh, and lizard men.
5. Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy
Capt. Jack Sparrow manages to get out of pretty much any scrape, but you gotta wonder if the poor pirate has some screws loose. Stumbling and slurring while imagining some off the wall type of stuff. Maybe it's just the rum?
6. Dead Man
It's in black-and-white. It's directed by Jim Jarmusch. And Depp goes through a spiritual journey, with the help of a guy named Nobody, that's just chock-full of crazy stares and killing sprees.
7. Ed Wood
As the celebrated "worst director of all time," Depp not only dresses up as a woman, but then does a striptease in a meat locker. Why didn't he get an Oscar for this, we wonder.
8. Benny & Joon
Ever had a friend that did weird stuff just to make you laugh—but then you wonder if there's something wrong upstairs? That's Johnny here, all over the place and going mental to get some laughs—and love. Freaky, yes, but this romance would also end up on the Dreamiest Johnny Depp Movies list.
9. Cry-Baby
In this cult musical from John Waters, Depp gets his nickname for being able to shed a single tear. With his run-ins with the law and rebel ways, even good girls want to get freaky. And that's freaky in a different sense, but freaky nonetheless.
10. You Tell Us!
What did we miss? His bloodthirsty barber in Sweeney Todd? Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow? The freakishly unfreaky Chocolat?
