Piper Perabo, Covert Affairs
Giving a nod to the star of USA's fluffy spy caper whose credits also include Beverly Hills Chihuahua meant the snubbing of more deserving Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights), Anna Paquin (True Blood), Glenn Close (in Damages' best season yet) and Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn.
Burlesque
Even if the Hollywood Foreign Press Associated mistook this campy schlockfest for a comedy, they still selected it over Toy Story 3. (See also: The Tourist.)
Scott Caan, Hawaii Five-0
Yep, the Supporting Actor nominee bumped off, just to name a few, Breaking Bad's Emmy-winning Aaron Paul, Bored to Death's Zach Galifianakis and Ted Danson, and, oh yeah, about a dozen actors in Lost, that ABC show that the HFPA apparently never heard of.
The Tourist
Despite its star power, this Johnny Depp-Angelina Jolie vehicle tanked at the box office and was universally panned by critics. Still, the HFPA found it more deserving of a Musical or Comedy nod than, say, Toy Story 3, Hot Tub Time Machine and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, The Client List
The actress never received nominations she didn't deserve for Ghost Whisperer...why start now?
Dexter
Michael C. Hall deserves his acting nod, but his show's weak season shoulda not been a contender this year. More deserving candidates for this slot include Lost, Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad.
