The French have a saying, jolie laid, to describe a woman who isn't classically pretty or beautiful but has an interesting face. This translates in English literally as "ugly beautiful," which is the best way I can describe summer's wild print trend.
Miuccia Prada was the first designers to go bananas and virtually spearheaded the wild-print trend. These banana prints from Topshop & Asos are super fun and totally affordable.
Grecian
Only Donatella Versace can get away with incorporating a Greek key motif with bold splashes of color.

This print may be crazy, but this bag will be in style for years and years. Alexander McQueen always does pretty insane prints, so I love that this bag will not be so identifiable with this season—which means you can bust it out any time to give your outfit a little splash.
Citrus
Forego last year's floral sweetness and dress like a tart! (I kid, I kid.) Stella McCartney printed this summer's citrus trend on everything from bikinis to dresses. Pucker up to the look with this adorable tank from Asos.
Zigzags
I'm a huge Missoni fan and love the brand's zany zigzags, so I am very excited about this collaboration with Converse.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese is right on trend in a blue watercolor-printed sheath.
Floral
The halter style on this Milly dress is great for busty gals. If you really want to accentuate the waist add a contrasting solid belt.
Funky
These Aldo wedges are a safe way to take part in the trend, since they are a small part of your outfit but will still have a huge impact. Try this with denim shorts or capris and a solid top.
