Princess Diaries

All right, let's just say it: Kate Middleton nailed it in this classic, elegant Alexander McQueen dress (by the brand's creative director Sarah Burton). The long-sleeve, lace gown with 8-foot-long train was perfectly suited for Kate's understated-chic style, but it still had enough drama for such a huge affair. And it fit beautifully. Wish we could say Kate's makeup also knocked it out of the park, but it was a little heavy-handed. But back to her gown and that blushing bride glow: It was modern classic, regal and simply smashing.

In the Spotlight

It's a wedding no-no for the bridesmaid to outshine the bride, but Pippa Middleton very nearly could have stolen the show from big sis Kate. The bride's No. 1 lady was absolutely lovely in a sleek, figure-hugging cowl-neck Sarah Burton design (in white?!) that featured the same button details and lace trims as Kate's gown. She kept the jewels to a minimum and her 'do half up and half down. Everyone knew the new princess would be a knockout at the wedding, but Pippa was the big surprise!

Pish Posh

Oh blimey! We were superexcited to see what preggers Victoria Beckham would be rocking to the wedding of the year, and the fashionista showed up in a bummer navy-blue wide-neck tent dress with matching fascinator and her ubiquitous sky-high Louboutin platforms, natch. Of course the baby-bumpin' celeb's gotta be comfortable, but this trapeze dress didn't bring the chic. David looks smokin' in his Ralph Lauren suit, though. Maybe that explains his grin and her grumpy scowl...

Damsel In Distress

If Chelsy Davy hopes the wedding puts Prince Harry in a proposing frame of mind, she needs to step up her grooming game. Girlfriend looks good enough in her seafoam green Alberta Ferretti dress with matching jacket, Jimmy Choo heels and Victoria Grant hat. But how could she leave the house without first putting a brush through that ratty hair?! Just-rolled-out-of-bed is not a good look on anyone, especially when you're angling to snag your own Prince Charming!

Let the Sun Shine

Not so mellow yellow? That's right, it's a great day for Queen Elizabeth II and her family, and she is shouting it from the fibers of her bright-yellow Angela Kelly beaded dress with matching coat and hat. Talk about a vibrant, happy outfit fit for the grandmother of the groom. And it's topped with the sweetest accessory: the Queen Mary's True Lovers Knot broach. Awww, pass the tissues!

Avant Good

Whoa, whodathunk the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, would be all trendy at the wedding, sporting a color-block coat and dress by Anna Valentine? (Who, BTW, also designed the dress for her wedding to Prince Charles.) Our only issue with this getup is that the pleats are a tad bottom-heavy, but it's a minor thing. With her Jimmy Choo pumps and Philip Treacy hat, Camilla is radiant.

More, Please

If the queen brought the sun to the wedding, then Carole Middleton brought the sky. Her pale-blue Catherine Walker coatdress and Jane Corbett hat is perfectly acceptable for a wedding, but we can't help feeling slightly underwhelmed by her look. She's the mother of the bride, so she's allowed to pop a little more! But hey, maybe she's saving the sparkles for the reception dress.

Pretty Pretty Princesses

In the battle of the princess sisters, we've got Princess Eugenie on the left in a blue printed top and sloppy-hemmed skirt ensemble with piled-high hat and gold platform pumps. Meh. And on the right is Princess Beatrice in a pale belted coat with beautiful cutout details, Mary Janes and a cheeky ribbon fascinator. Um, is it obvious we're loving Bea's polished princess look over Eugenie's? How about you?

Electric Company

And the most bloody brilliant outfit award goes to...Tara Palmer-Tomkinson! From her cool fascinator to the off-the-shoulder gown to the studded peep-toe slingbacks, the British socialite rocks this electric-blue ensemble! It is so chic, elegant and fabulous. She brought the wow that Victoria Beckham unfortunately didn't deliver.
