Season One: Heidi Klum Proves Her Awesomeness
Remember when we only knew Heidi as that kooky Victoria's Secret model who liked to make funny faces? ProjRun showed us the feisty, sassy side of Heids that we now love. Also, it's hard to decide what we like to say more: "In fashion, one day you're in, and the next, you're out" or "auf Wiedersehen."
Season One: Tim Makes His Catchphrase Work
The best part of every episode might be when Tim Gunn shows up to mentor the designers. Bless his gentle soul. And "Make it work" was probably the biggest hit as far as catchphrases go. There was a time when everyone was saying it so much that we were so close to being annoyed, but then we remembered how much we love ol' T.G.
Season One: Austin Amazes Us
The whole show kicked off with a challenge of making an elaborate, flirty dress out of materials from a flea market, and Austin Scarlett totally killed it with his corn-husk dress. That was when we knew this show was effing awesome. Too bad Austin never got to show at Fashion Week—and Wendy Pepper did. Robbed, we say.
Season Two: Santino, a Lovable Villian
Santino was the villian of season two. He was arrogant, bickered with Nina and talked a lot of crap about everybody. It would have been entirely possible to completely hate him, but then he had an amazing Tim Gunn impression and created a story about Andrae (What happened to Andrae?) and Tim going on a date to Red Lobster. And for that, we love him.
Season Three: Twinsies!
Michael Kors brought his mom on the show, and they both wore the exact same uniform—jeans, black tee and black sports coat. Adorable. But that's not the only thing we like about M.K. Every week he's there judging with some vaguely bitchy critque ready to go, like, "Slutty, slutty, slutty" or "C'mon, she's pooping fabric!"
Season Three: Cheater, Cheater Pumpkin Eater?
Jeffrey was like season three's Santino but without the lovable Tim Gunn impression. He was so rude he even made another contestant's mom cry. But he still made it to the final four, where Laura began to question the authenticity of his collection. She believed he outsourced some of the sewing, but receipts said otherwise. Then he won. Also, he made neck tattoos not so edgy.
Season Four: Christian Fiercely Steals
Christian made season 4 all about him, and it worked—he had the asymmetrical hair, the talent and a catchphrase stolen from Tyra Banks. Ms. Banks had been using "fierce" on Top Model way before Christian, but because he's so much more lovable than Ty-Ty, he was able to make it his own.
Season Four: Real Celebrity Guest Judges
Were you watching when Sarah Jessica Parker's very presence made Chris cry and Posh told Christian after he won that she would be honored to wear his designs? Season four was definitely all about the fashionistas when they hooked the designers up with these celebrity guest judges.
Season Five: Stop Trying to Make Girlicious Happen
Poor Blayne—he tried to copy Christian by being all sassy and attempting to make his catchphrase stick. Except only Blayne thought he could bring "girlicious" into America's vernacular. Instead, we all laughed at him—and so did the judges when they aufed him.
Season Five: Kenley the Divisive
Remember when Kenley got all defensive and insulted Heidi with her bratty tone? You should, it was just two weeks ago. Yet in the beginning, Kenley seemed so likable. She was cute, designed fun dresses and rocked her vintage style. But by the end of the season all her dresses started to look the same, and she became increasingly whiny. Can you stand her?
