Will Arnett, Up All Night

Why He Will Be Nominated: He's Will Arnett.

Why He Won't Be: Up All Night struggled to find its footing this year, which could hurt his chances at a nod. Voters might wait for a stronger second season to give Arnett a nomination.

Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock

Why He Will Be Nominated: See the past five years.

Why He Won't: He will. Unless the Emmy voters suddenly decided his actions outside the show (the Words With Friends debacle, bashing NBC), should cost him a nod.

Louis C.K., Louie

Why He Will Be Nominated: He's everyone's favorite comedic genius right now. He dominated Comedy Central's Comedy Awards, and Emmy voters seem to love showering his show with accolades.

Why He Won't: He's a pretty safe bet, but they might want to give this spot to an underdog if they're feeling generous.

Don Cheadle, House of Lies

Why He Will Be Nominated: He's Don Cheadle, and he oozes talent from his pores. Plus, House of Lies was a well-recieved comedy hit for Showtime, and Emmy voters never hesitate to shower awards on a good cable series.

Why He Won't Be: Cannot think of a reason he won't be other than the fact Cheadle hasn't really been "campaigning" for his nomination.

Jon Cryer, Two and a Half Men

Why He Will Be Nominated: Cryer has been a staple in the Supporting Actor category, but with Charlie Sheen out of the picture, it's time for him to be bumped to a lead nomination for taking over the show after Sheen crashed and burned left Two and a Half Men.

Why He Won't: Voters might not see him as leading man material, and all the drama from Two and a Half Men the past year might hurt his chances at a nod.

Larry David, Curb Your Enthusiasm

Why He Will Be Nominated: Critics love this show and adore David—he's been nominated four times in the past for his comedy acting, but hasn't won yet!

Why He Won't Be: The competition is fierce in this category, and he wasn't nominated last year. Perhaps voters forgot about him?

Garret Dillahunt, Raising Hope

Why He Will Be Nominated: Last year his costar Martha Plimpton got a much-deserved nomination for her work on this under-the-radar gem, and voters might be turning their eyes to others on the show. Dillahunt is a solid option.

Why He Won't: Again, Raising Hope is still an underdog show, and the Academy could just give Plimpton another nod and call it a day.

Ed Helms, The Office

Why He Will Be Nominated: Say what you will about The Office post-Steve Carell, but Ed Helms worked his funny ass off to deliver an entertaining show on a weekly basis. And now with Carell out of the Emmy race, Helms can get his nod for carrying the show on his back when most critics wanted it to dragged down.

Why He Won't: Everyone loves to hate on The Office now, which could overshadow Helms' performance, and voters might see no point in recognizing it without Carell aboard.

Don't forget to vote for Ed Helms (or your other favorite) in our Lead Actor in a Comedy poll!

NBC

Zachary Levi, Chuck

Why He Will Be Nominated: Beloved by fans, this is Chuck's last chance to finally get some Emmy love. And if anyone deserves an acting nod, it's Levi, who has been the heart and soul of the series.

Why He Won't Be: Like we said above, Chuck is not known for getting Emmy attention.

Joel McHale, Community

Why He Will Be Nominated: Community dominated TV news this year with scandals and a passionate fanbase rallying for more support, and Joel has been ignored for far too long.

Why He Won't: Community is no stranger to being ignored come award season, and the Academy might only throw them a bone in the writing category instead of the acting categories.

Jim Parsons, Big Bang Theory

Why He Will Be Nominated: Well, he's won the past two years and the critics adore him and his show. He's a safe bet.

Why He Won't: The voters could give their nod to costar Johnny Galecki, but more than likely they'll just both be nominated like last year.

Is this Jim's year to win again? Vote in our poll!

Josh Radnor, How I Met Your Mother

Why He Will Be Nominated: How I Met Your Mother is no stranger to accolades and ratings, and Radnor hasn't been ever really been recognized for his lead role in the series. This past season he's had a lot of drama to tackle along with the usual comedic shenanigans.

Why He Won't: Sometimes, Neil Patrick Harris shines too brightly for anyone else to get recognition on HIMYM.

Elijah Wood, Wilfred

Why He Will Be Nominated: Not many people could pull off headlining a dark comedy with a man in a dog suit, but Wood makes it work wonderfully.

Why He Won't: Wilfred has yet to get any special attention from award shows, and Academy voters have been known to ignore FX altogether when it comes to comedies.
