Feb. 8 marks the anniversary of Anna Nicole Smith's passing at the age of 39. Yet thanks in part to the unconditional love given to daughter Dannielynn by her biological father, Larry Birkhead, Anna's vibrant, energetic spirit seems to live on through her dynamic young daughter.
Home Sweet Home
In 2011, Anna Nicole Smith's home was put up for sale, taking away another part of the star with it. Her daughter, Dannielynn, and baby daddy Larry Birkhead were living there until it went on the market—separating them even more from the departed actress.
Lights, Camera, Auction!
Planet Hollywood Las Vegas hosted an auction of the fallen star's possesions in 2010. The items included fine and decorative art, furniture and memorabilia and was presented by Julien's Auctions. Having a part of Anna was never any easier.
Guilty Verdict
After days of deliberation, Anna's attorney and boyfriend Howard K. Stern was found guilty in Smith's October of 2010 drug trial. He was cleared for seven counts but convicted of two felony charges of conspiring to use fake names and false pretenses to score prescriptions.
Anna's psychatrist, Khristine Eroshevich, was also found guilty of four counts against her—two for conspiracy and two for prescribing and furnishing sedatives and opiates to an addict.
Who's Her Daddy?
Before her death, Smith was faced with a paternity suit filed by Larry Birkhead, who claimed to be Danielynn's biological father. Lawyer Howard K. Stern also claimed the baby was his.
It was eventually revealed that Bikhead was Dannielynn's father and he was granted custody. He is now a vital part of making sure Smith's legacy lives on through her daughter.
Life Goes On
Following Anna's death, Larry brought Dannielynn back to the States from the Bahamas after being granted paternity. Father and daughter currently live in Los Angeles.
In Her Mother's Image
The starlet's daughter, Dannielynn, is the living reminder of Anna's legacy. Even before she turned 1, she resembled her mother and continues to grow in her shadow.
The Sweetest Gift
Anna died in Florida Feb. 8, 2007, just five months after the birth of daughter Dannielynn.
Family Drama
Anna's mother, Virgie Arthur, had been hoping to have her daughter's remains buried in Texas, but a judge ruled the body would rest in the Bahamas.

Anna's admirers in the Bahamas (where she lived before her death) laid out informal tributes to honor the late model.

Pallbearers at the funeral included Anna's attorney Ron Rale, former bodyguard Maurice "Big Moe" Brighthaupt and Houston police officer Troy Hollier.

First Tragedy
Just three days after the birth of his little sister, Dannielynn, 20-year-old Daniel Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in Anna Nicole's hotel room in Nassau. His mother was buried beside his grave site in the Bahamas when she died five months later.
Happier Times
Anna's daughter, Dannielynn Hope, was named in honor of her late big brother.
Closing Act
Anna's last movie, the sci-fi comedy Illegal Aliens, was released after her death.
