It ain't over till the formerly fat lady sings. Oh, wait, Star Jones just piped up.

The onetime View cohost has filed for divorce from her husband of three and a half years, Al Reynolds, her rep confirmed to E! News.

The uncontested divorce was sealed and entered into New York Supreme Court on March 26, signaling the beginning of the end of the high-profile marriage dogged by controversy and doubt since its start.

"Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life," the 46-year-old former prosecutor said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "A month ago I filed for divorce.

"The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone's life that requires privacy with one's thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman."

With the documents sealed, it's unclear what reason Jones gave for requesting the dissolution of her union. But the end result is the same: The TV vet and the 39-year-old Reynolds finally did what naysayers speculated about for years and split up.

After months of buildup—and televised, credibility-damaging corporate sponsorship—Jones tied the knot with Reynolds in a much-publicized ceremony at Saint Bartholomew's Church in New York City on Nov. 13, 2004.

More than 500 guests, including then-coworkers Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Meredith Vieira and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, attended the big-bucks, blowout affair, along with such A-list guests as Kim Cattrall, Donald Trump, Vivica A. Fox and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Whispers immediately began about how long the marriage would last. But after subsiding for a bit, the divorce rumors began revving up again earlier this year.

The ex-couple had remained largely MIA from the public spotlight since Jones' break from truTV in February, when her daily show went off the air after less than six months.

Of late, photos of Jones with Miami Heat superstar Dwayne Wade have appeared online, sparking unconfirmed rumors of an affair.

As for Reynolds, there have been reports that the banker was shopping around a tell-all book discussing his much-discussed romantic past as well as his relationship with Jones. But no publisher has emerged, and Reynolds hasn't commented on any writing endeavor.
