Timothée Chalamet—who became an uncle when his older sister Pauline Chalamet gave birth to her first child in September—is excited to spend some time with his newest family member once he wraps up the press tour for his Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
"I love the movie, that's why I'm trying to go as hard as possible," the 28-year-old told Theo Von on the Dec. 16 episode of the podcast This Past Weekend, "and if I can come back here and be with my family, be with my new little niece."
"First one," he added proudly. "That's a crazy moment."
When Von asked Timothée what his niece's name is, the actor demurred, saying, "I think my sister has kept her offline," before going on to give a glimpse at his sister’s life as a mom.
"You know, my sister lives in sort of like a...she's with a group of people in a forest-type thing in France," Timothée went on before Theo asked him for more details. "No, I'm just f--king with you."
While he was joking about her living situation, it was the Dune actor's first time publicly acknowledging his sister's newborn baby, which does reflect her own desire to keep her family life private.
In fact, the arrival of Pauline's daughter only became public after she was captured on camera telling pal Greta Gerwig at Paris Fashion Week that she'd just given birth three weeks prior.
"I just had a baby!" the 32-year-old told the director. "We just had a baby."
The Sex Lives of College Girls actress recently opened up about how those closest to her responded to how her exciting news accidentally got out.
"None of my friends had any empathy for me. They were like, ‘You were at a social event.’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, but what?’” Pauline told NYLON in an interview published Dec. 9. “I was like, ‘You want to film that and sell it to someone? I hope you got good money for that, at least.’"
That same fashion week, the actress stepped out in support of her brother's girlfriend Kylie Jenner, sitting front row as the Kardashians star closed out the Coperni show at Disneyland Paris Oct. 1. Following the show, video showed the duo sharing an intimate embrace and laughing with one another.
But just like her life with her little one, Pauline is just as eager to keep Timothée’s private life out of the spotlight. When asked by NYLON if Kylie—who shares kids Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2, with ex Travis Scott—has given her any parenting advice, Pauline kept it vague, saying, "I appreciate all the people in my life who have children and the advice that they have to give."
The actress—who has not publicly disclosed who the father of her baby is—had previously revealed her pregnancy at the last Paris Fashion Week in June, where she proudly showed off her baby bump.
