The Osbournes are mourning the loss of another beloved family member.
Just three months after the death of patriarch Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne announced the family’s dog Elvis died.
“It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that we lost Elvis this week,” Kelly wrote in an Oct. 19 Instagram carousel featuring pictures of the siberian husky including one with her holding onto him while they take a selfie. “Our guardian angel has left us. Elvis did not leave my side since my dad passed. He helped get me through the darkest moment of my life. I keep trying to find a positive in all of this and the only thing I can come up with is that maybe my dad needed him.”
“Life can be so cruel but also give you many treasures,” she added. “We were so lucky to have Elvis for 14 years. Thank you for all the love Elvis you were one of a kind. I love you sleep well sweet prince until we meet again!”
For her part, Sharon Osbourne shared a glimpse of her and Ozzy’s time with Elvis, including joining her on the set of her talk show, posing for a professional photoshoot and laying on Ozzy’s chest.
“I can’t believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week,” she wrote on Oct. 19. “He gave me 14 precious year. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my darling boy!”
Elvis’ death comes three months after the Black Sabbath rocker died following a heart attack at the age of 76. In the months that followed, Sharon—who alongside her husband had numerous dogs and cats—found a new hobby that catered to her love of animals.
“Today I introduced my mum to falconry and she loved it!” Kelly posted on Instagram Sept. 11 alongside videos of her mother hand-feeding birds at the Cornwall Falconry farm in England. “Thank you @gerardsulter for putting a smile on my mum’s face too!”
Prior to her husband’s passing, Sharon spoke about his retirement and how they would spend their quiet final years together with their animals after relocating from Los Angeles to England.
“It’s our last chapter,” the 73-year-old—mom to Jack Osbourne, 39 and Aimee Osbourne, 42—said in the BBC documentary Sharon & Ozzy Coming Home. “This is it. This is our time. However long it is, it’s our time. My life without him just isn’t my life, it’s not what I was meant to be. We’re like glue.”
