Jennifer Lawrence may have some hard feelings toward Emma Stone.

When it came to nominations for the Actor Awards (formerly SAG Awards), the Hunger Games alum, who was not nominated for her film Die My Love, had fun messing with the La La Land star, who was nominated for Bugonia.

“We’re in a group chat and she got nominated for a SAG today and I did not,” Jennifer said during an event at the 92nd Street Y in New York City Jan. 7, per Variety. “I wrote ‘WHAT!’ and all her friends were like ‘Congratulations Emma’ and I just do a sad face.”

And the No Hard Feelings actress didn’t stop there with her prodding of Emma, who is nominated in the Lead Actress category alongside Jessie Buckley for Hamnet, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue and Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another

“Every time she tries to talk today, I’m like, ‘Why are you not saying sorry,'” she quipped. “She’s been beating me for decades but it’s an honor.”

But Jennifer—whose performance in Die My Love scored her a Golden Globe nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama—will have to put her faux feud with Emma aside since she recently revealed they’re both working on a movie about Miss Piggy with Oh, Mary! writer and actor Cole Escola.

“I don’t know if I can announce this, but I am just going to," she said on a November episode of Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ podcast Las Culturistas. "Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it."

As for if Jennifer and Emma will appear in the film, marking their first time as costars?

“I think so,” she added. “We have to.”

The Mother! actress—mom to two sons with husband Cooke Maroney—later gave insight on how the movie about the temperamental Muppet, and “feminist icon,” came to be.

"During lockdown, one of my good friends who is not in the industry—it was also kind of around cancel culture, both things were kind of happening at once," she said during a November appearance on The Tonight Show, “[my friend] was like, 'It would be so funny if Miss Piggy got canceled.'"

And though Jennifer noted Miss Piggy’s arrest is “not the plot necessarily,” she said the idea “got the wheels turning,” which is when she reached out to Emma.

“Emma Stone is the Muppet-head,” she explained. “Also, Emma Stone is a shark. Emma Stone will turn around in a leather jacket with a cigar and be like, ‘Hey kid! Let me tell you a thing or two about Hollywood.’ So I went to her to be like, ‘What do we do?’”

While waiting for the Miss Piggy movie to hit the silver screen, read on to see other movies coming out soon.
