But Turner offered an alternate reason in December, telling People he opened up about his battle with bone marrow cancer Waldenström's macroglobulinemia because he felt it would "clear up a lot of mystery" about the end of his brief marriage.
"As Theresa and I were trying very hard to find our lifestyle and where we were going to live and how we were going to make our life work, I was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer," he explained, noting the news made him re-evaluate his life and want to spend more time near his daughters and granddaughters.
But Nist told the mag, her then-husband's diagnosis "wasn't a factor in the ending of the relationship, at least not for me."
"If that was something on his part, maybe, I don't know," she continued. "But no, that didn't factor into ending the relationship."

Justin Timberlake Is Arrested for DWI
June 17: During a night out in the Hamptons Justin Timberlake was arrested and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated. According to Page Six, the arresting officer didn't recognize Timberlake, who reportedly mumbled something about the encounter ruining the tour.
"He was at dinner with friends last night," a source with knowledge of the situation told E! News. "As he left the restaurant, there was a patrol car seemingly stationed near the restaurant. He was stopped and, was arrested. Nobody was hurt."
Striking a plea deal in September, the musician pled guilty and paid a fine to say bye, bye, bye to the misdemeanor charges.
Julie Chrisley Nearly Scores a Big Legal Break
June 21: Julie Chrisley's seven-year prison sentence for tax evasion and bank fraud was overturned after a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the judge in the 2022 trial miscalculated the Chrisley Knows Best alum's sentence.
But the case was then handed to the lower court—the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia—where the judge decided Sept. 25 not to adjust her sentencing, meaning she'll remain behind bars until 2028.
