Though fans did penalize the former Miss Universe for saying she selected her Dolce & Gabbana ballgown because she "wanted something that felt as serious as that commitment" and "didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form."
Naturally, her new husband intercepted any critcism, telling one influencer, "I hope you can find joy and peace in the world, the way my beautiful wife does."
The Case of Charlotte the Stingray Ends in Tragedy

But weeks after revealing she actually wasn't expecting, workers at the aquarium delivered even more tragic news.
"We are sad to announce, after continuing treatment with her medical care team and specialist, our ray Charlotte passed away today," they wrote in a Facebook post. "We are continuing to work with her medical care team and research specialist."
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals Pregnancy
July 9: Safe to say this was not on Gypsy Rose Blanchard's post-prison bucket list. But after going shopping, getting a nose job and splitting from husband Ryan Anderson, she took a big step forward in her romance with former fiancé Ken Urker.
"Ken and I are expecting our very first child come January of 2025," she shared on YouTube. "We're both very excited. This was not planned at all, it was completely unexpected." But proving they're both on the same page, she revealed in December that they'd dreamt up their daughter's name Aurora—a nod to their shared love of the Northern Lights—when they originally dated in 2018.
Shannen Doherty Dies at 53
July 13: "I don't think that I've processed it," Shannen Doherty told ABC News in February 2020, while revealing her breast cancer had returned after three years of being in remission. "It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?' And then I go, ‘Well why not me? Who else? Who else beside me deserves this?' None of us do."
The alum of beloved TV series like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed passed away after a nine-year battle that saw the cancer metastasize to her brain and spread to her bones. (He was also swapped out of Haack's upcoming The Flip Off series with her second husband Ant Anstead joining Haack to compete against ex Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather El Moussa.)
"When someone is insecure and doesn't like to watch you win, that really puts a damper on everything," the HGTV star later told Entertainment Tonight of her and Hall's split. "I feel like I was not shining as bright to try and not make him feel emasculated. But who wants to look like that?"

Weeks earlier, she'd given fans a peek inside that fight with her I Am: Céline Dion documentary. Having led her team to another gold medal, Biles celebrated with a dig at former teammate McKayla Skinner, who'd said in a since-deleted YouTube video, "Besides Simone I feel like the talent and the depth isn’t what it used to be," adding, “I just noticed, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. But then the Romanian Gymnastics Federation and Romanian finalists Ana Maria Barbosu and Sabrina Maneca-Voinea, who came in fourth and fifth place, filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport arguing that Chiles' coach had submitted the inquiry four seconds late.
Though the International Olympic Committee announced plans Aug. 11 to "reallocate the bronze medal to Ana Barbosu," Chiles still has hold of the original hardware and her belief that the inquiry was on time, thanks to footage captured for Biles' Netflix documentary.
“It’s hard to tell yourself that everything’s going to be fine when you know literally we didn’t do anything wrong,” Chiles said on Today in November. “Everything was very right. Everything was in the time that it needed to be, and for them to come back and say it was four seconds late when we’ve had proof. We’ve had everything that really can show that everything was right.”

It Ends With Us Sparks Controversy
Aug. 9: Yes, Lively and Justin Baldoni's adaption of Colleen Hoover's book about an abusive relationship proved to be fertile ground for rumors of behind-the-scenes strife when it was released in theaters. But costar Brandon Sklenar did his best to nip that chatter in the bud.
“It just seems silly to me,” he told Access Hollywood of the chatter. “It’s kinda defeating the whole purpose of the thing to spread any negativity. It’s an important film for so many women and for so many survivors of domestic abuse.”
