Orlando Bloom is taking everything in stride.
Over two months after it was confirmed that The Cut star and ex Katy Perry called off their engagement, he shared where his head is at and how the former couple are moving forward co-parenting 5-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.
“I’m great,” he told Craig Melvin on the Sept. 5 episode of Today. “I’m so grateful. We’ve got a beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie, I feel grateful for all of it.”
And despite breaking up after nine years together, Orlando assured their relationship is still “great.”
“We’re gonna be great,” he added. “It’s nothing but love.”
Katy, for her part, has not outwardly addressed the breakup—but she has made it clear to her fans that she is as toned, tanned, fit and ready as ever amid her Lifetimes Tour, even seamlessly interacting with a fan on stage Aug. 20 who sheepishly admitted he had the same name as her ex.
After a prolonged pause, Katy earnestly told the fan his name was “incredible.”
Meanwhile, a rep for Katy and Orlando—also dad to Flynn, 14, with ex Miranda Kerr—previously emphasized that the pair are still on friendly terms.
“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” the rep said in a July 3 statement to E! News. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The pair’s breakup isn’t the first time they’ve spent time apart. In fact, Katy opened up last year about her and Orlando’s one-year split in 2017, which she said really helped her gain true self love.
And even before their breakup this year, Katy and Orlando’s biggest priority was always taking care of their daughter.
“We want to evolve,” she said on Call Her Daddy in Sept. 2024. “That’s I think why we’re in our relationship is to become better humans so we can raise this beautiful human being.”
