Watch: Keith Urban Changed Song Lyrics Inspired by Nicole Kidman Romance Before Breakup News

Keith Urban is no longer making memories with Nicole Kidman.

Three days after news that the country singer and his wife of almost 20 years had broken up, the newly single Keith made his return to the stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as part of his ongoing High and Alive World Tour. But that doesn’t mean he’s left his loved ones behind.

During the Oct. 2 show, a photo featuring Nicole and their two daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret,14, was kept in a preexisting slideshow, per People, that plays during Keith’s performance of “Heart Like a Hometown."

Days earlier, it was at Keith’s Sept. 27 show that he raised eyebrows by changing lyrics in his song “The Fighter,” which was inspired by his and Nicole’s relationship.

While the lyrics originally read, "When they're tryna get to you, baby I'll be the fighter," he altered the words to address musician Maggie Baugh, who was playing by his side.

“When they're tryna get to you, Maggie,” the 57-year-old sang, “I'll be your guitar player."

Maggie later shared a video from the moment to her Instagram, the 25-year-old writing alongside the sideways eye emoji, “Did he just say that?”

Keith, for his part, had previously shared insight into his inspiration for the 2016 track.

"It was a very quick song to write because I literally just thought about Nic and I, and our relationship at the beginning and some of the things that we’d said," he told People in 2017. "And they all went into that song."

But while Keith is performing on stages in the midst of his breakup, Nicole—who shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret,14, with Keith—made her first public appearance on a quiet hike with her sister Antonia Kidman.

During the Oct. 1 outing, as seen in photos published by the Daily Mail, the Big Little Lies star—who officially filed for divorce on Sept. 30—kept things lowkey, donning black leggings and a gray zip-up sweatshirt and sneakers for the outdoor excursion in Nashville. The 58-year-old finished off her look with a matching gray hat and black sunglasses.

While neither Nicole nor Keith have commented publicly about the decision to split, E! News learned that the call was one-sided, and that the Oscar winner did not want to divorce the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” artist.

The pair, however, had separated at the beginning of the summer, E! also learned, and that Nicole had been taking care of her and Keith’s daughters in their family home while he resided in a separate residence in Nashville.
