Channing Tatum Shares What He Always Gets Daughter Everly's Approval on

It isn't always an easy decision for Channing, who was unsure whether he should reprise his Deadpool & Wolverine role as Gambit for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday for the same reason.

"Avengers was going to be in London," the 45-year-old explained. "Same thing. It wasn't as long, but I was like, 'I don't know if I want to take it, Ev, because I'm going to miss the beginning of your middle school.'"

But Evelyn was happy to let Channing—who finalized his divorce from Jenna last September six years after their breakup—step up in the MCU.

"She was like, 'No, Dad, that's a really good part. I want you to go do that,'" he recalled. "I was in tears as well."

For Channing, including his daughter in his career path has been essential for their dynamic. As he reflected, "Even if they don't even understand what those decisions are until later, I think it's important for them to feel a part of it."

As Everly enters her teenage years, the Step Up alum knows he's in for a lot—and he's already gotten a taste of it.

"She was always pretty opinionated, very strong-willed, but now it's like just on a whole different level," he revealed on The Drew Barrymore Show Oct. 9. "I got yelled at in an escape room yesterday. Like she's never yelled at me before."

"All I did was like, 'I wonder what,'" he recalled as he went to grab something, "She's like, 'Dad, don't touch that!' I'm like, 'Whoa, what was that?' We're both trying to solve this problem and now I feel like we have to go to therapy because of that moment."
