Megan Fox has been transformed by motherhood.
And as the Jennifer’s Body star shared, it’s been a tad difficult for her to keep her thoughts in order since welcoming 6-month-old daughter Saga Blade with ex Machine Gun Kelly earlier this year.
“I want to say I just had a baby,” Megan shared during a Jennifer's Body Q&A event at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles Oct. 25, per a video shared to TikTok, “and I have a lot of brain fog.”
The 39-year-old explained that she hasn’t “slept in seven months,” adding, “So if I repeat myself, I'm sorry. Just interrupt me and tell me I'm off track.”
But Megan—who is also mom to Noah, 13, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 9, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green—had no trouble recalling how she felt while working on the 2009 movie in which she starred as body-snatcher Jennifer Check opposite Amanda Seyfried.
“I read this script, and I think it just resonated with me because there’s something about that whether it’s perceived or not,” she explained. “I felt like I was persecuted at that time in my career and I was struggling a lot with fame and kind of traumatized by fame.”
The Transformers alum added, “I resonated with those deeper layers of before she becomes a monster, she’s a teenage girl that gets sacrificed for somebody else’s gain. And that very much resonated because that’s kind of how I came into this industry.”
Plus, playing Jennifer gave her a place to “put those qualities of myself that are really unhinged, that are not appropriate to express every day of your life.”
“There was something so fun about getting to tap into that,” she mused. “Like darker feminine energy that no one really wants to allow.”
The Q&A marked one of Megan’s first public events since welcoming Saga. As MGK—whom Megan split from in December before Saga’s birth—previously explained, she’s been keeping her focus on her family.
“Megan is a great mom,” the 35-year-old gushed on Today in June. “She’s killing it. I’m so excited.”
And luckily the former couple have managed to successfully navigate their co-parenting dynamic—although Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) admitted the two disagreed on one thing.
“We go back and forth on who [Saga] looks like,” he joked on The Jennifer Hudson Show in September. “Last month, she looked exactly like me and now she looks exactly like her.”
