Chris Evans and Alba Baptista came up with a marvelous moniker for their daughter.
The Captain America star and the Warrior Nun actress named their baby girl—born Oct. 24 in Massachusetts—Alma Grace Baptista Evans, multiple outlets report. The newborn's moniker gives a nod to parents Chris and Alba by including both of their surnames.
While Chris’ transition into parenthood was busy, having starred in two summer films Materialists alongside Dakota Fanning and Pedro Pascal and Honey Don’t alongside Margaret Qualley, he hinted that he and Alba were quietly preparing for their daughter’s arrival.
“We’re laying low,” the 44-year-old told E! News in June. “We're enjoying our time, just relaxing."
And despite being on their way to becoming parents, Chris assured that he and the 28-year-old—who tied the knot in 2023—were still in the honeymoon phase.
“It’s incredible,” he gushed of his two-year marriage. “It’s wonderful.”
Of course, Chris becoming a dad had always been on his to-do list, previously admitting that adopting his dog Dodger back in 2015 was to get him ready for the task.
"I would love to have kids," he told E! News in 2023. "But having a dog is certainly a good litmus test of how you handle responsibility.”
More recently, Chris shared his wish to take after fellow girl dad and Red One costar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“I hope so,” he told Access Hollywood in 2024 of following in his costar’s footsteps. “Yeah, absolutely. The title of dad is an exciting one.”
As for where he and Alba hope to go from here? Chris has previously expressed hope to focus on family life in the years ahead.
“Wife, kids, building a family,” he shared with People in 2022. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.”
