Alix Earle is speaking out.
Following her and Braxton Berrios' breakup after more than two years of dating, the Tiktoker offered insight into their decision to part ways romantically.
“Braxton and I are no longer together,” she tearfully told fans in a Dec. 13 Tiktok video. “We have been doing long distance since, basically, June and we haven’t gotten to see each other that often. It’s just been really difficult for me.”
Part of that strain was due to Alix's run on Dancing with the Stars season 34 while the Houston Texans wide receiver was traveling during the NFL season. While Alix was dominating the ballroom in Los Angeles, she realized that she could see herself moving to the city, making the former couple's distance even wider.
“I think that was a scary thing for me to realize because it meant us not being in the same place," she admitted. "A part of me also really wants to be focusing on myself right now. I just feel like I can’t be what Braxton needs.”
But at the end of the day the Hot Mess with Alix Earle host just wants Braxton to have someone who can give him their full attention.
“I want him to have someone with him 24/7 who can support him and be there for him," she explained. "And he wasn’t really expecting that of me. I think it was more a me thing but I constantly felt guilty.”
And even though the pair have decided to part ways, there will always be love between them, as Alix added, “And I love Braxton. He’s my best friend, you know? So it’s been really difficult as we’re trying to go forward with this.”
Alix also emphasized that there's no bad blood between the two.
“It just kinda feels like we’re on two different paths right now and it sucks,” she said. “We’re on good terms and I don’t want anyone to come for him or to be mean to him or to say it’s because he couldn’t make it to Dancing with the Stars. Because he couldn’t come because of football.”
She continued, “It’s not drama. It’s not because he did anything wrong or I did anything wrong. It just didn’t really feel like it was working out, in the moment.”
Prior to their split, Alix, 24, and Braxton, 30, dealt with speculation about their relationship status as far back as the summer. During a trip to Spain in June, the influencer confirmed she and the NFL star were still going strong, posting a TikTok video during a day at the beach while wearing an oversized T-shirt that read, “I love my boyfriend.”
But rumors about the pair persisted, especially given Braxton’s noticeable absence from the audience throughout her run on season 34 of Dancing With the Stars. But when a fan asked Alix—who finished in second place alongside pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy—why her then-boyfriend was missing from the ballroom, she pointed to his busy playing schedule.
“Ugh I hope u and Braxton are still together,” the fan commented on a Nov. 28 video on Alix’s TikTok page Nov. 28, to which she wrote back, “He couldn’t come bc of football.”
But after reports confirmed the two had indeed parted ways, Alix wasted no time getting back on the scene. Earlier this month, she delivered major “revenge dress” energy as she stepped out for Art Basel Miami Beach wearing a form-fitting white corset minidress with an upper thigh cutout, showing off the look in a photo dump on Instagram with the caption, “Good to see u again miami.”
But while Alix was living her best single life, new rumors about her love life quickly emerged. In fact, she spoke out to address a fabricated screenshot suggesting that New York Giants rookie Jaxson Dart reached out to her in the wake of her breakup.
“What is this fake photoshopped dm u guys are posting,” Alix posted on her Instagram Story Dec. 7. “1. That never happened 2. That wouldn't be on my story.”
