Tis the season for getting back on the proverbial horse at Jamie Lynn Spears' house.

The Zoey 101 alum and husband Jamie Watson gifted daughter Maddie Watson her own ATV for Christmas, almost nine years after Maddie, then 8, spent two days in a coma following a scary accident involving a similar vehicle on her family's Louisiana property.

Jamie Lynn's carousel of holiday photos included a close-up of the now-17-year-old's new ride decorated with a big red bow, as well as a shot of Maddie perched on the ATV with her 6-year-old sister Ivey Watson.

While her mom made a tradition of marking the "miracle anniversary" of Maddie walking out of the hospital alive and well, the high school senior only recently commented on her near-fatal crash.

"I did have an accident," the self-described "injury prone" teen said in an Aug. 12 YouTube video. "I was in a coma and I came back to life, and I’m very blessed."

A sentiment that certainly echoes how Jamie Lynn, who was 16 when she had Maddie with then-fiancé Casey Aldridge, feels about their family's ordeal.

"Happiest day of my life," Jamie Lynn wrote on Feb. 5, 2021, captioning a photo of Maddie walking out of the hospital under her own steam four years prior. "I may be wearing hospital socks, since I didn’t have shoes, and someone else’s clothes, but I was walking out of that hospital with way more then I had going in, I had a healthy baby girl and nothing else mattered. We were given the ultimate gift, and we will NEVER take that for granted, especially knowing that this is not the case for so many others."

In her summer video, Maddie detailed other health issues, including "bad asthma," that had her in and out of the hospital since she was little.

But otherwise she's grown into a busy teen who went to her junior prom in April and has already stated her intent to play softball at University of Southern Mississippi after high school.

"I feel like I can’t take much credit for anything," Jamie Lynn wrote on Instagram when Maddie committed to her college of choice in November 2024, "bc I have witnessed this kid go through, face, & overcome some impossible things by her own strong will, convictions, determination, & the sheer grace of God."

And when Maddie spoke out about her experience, the start of a planned video diary to document her senior year, her mom cheered that decision too.

"You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can decide how you react to what happens to you," the Sweet Magnolias star wrote Aug. 13. "I’m so proud of this kid, she never lets anything or anyone sit her down, and sharing her journey through it all hopefully inspires others to never stop going hard for what they want out of life."

And now with her own ATV, Maddie can get to her destination that much faster.
