Will Smith, Charlize Theron & Jason Bateman
The original Hancock trio are reteaming for a sequel to last year's summer blockbuster. Plot details are scarce, but the film will see Will Smith and Charlize Theron's godlike duo reteaming to fight a new threat. Jason Bateman will no doubt stand around being wry and charming.
Liv Tyler, Rainn Wilson & Ellen Page
Rainn Wilson is putting the Super in superhero. The Office star teams up with former Juno costar Ellen Page and Liv Tyler in the comedy designed to send up the comic (in the other sense of the word) genre. Wilson plays an average joe who pretends to be a superhero (minus the superpowers) when his wife takes up with a drug dealer.
Ethan Hawke
Thar he blows. Ethan Hawke has signed on to star as Starbuck (think literary sidekick, not espresso purveyor) in a TV adaptation of Herman Melville's classic Moby Dick. Playing the mad Captain Ahab will be William Hurt, with the production expected to be completed in fall 2010. With those actors and that budget (nearly $26 million) it's also no doubt expected to sink its hooks into an Emmy or two along the way.
Jeff Bridges
Dude! The actor may reteam with the Coen brothers on a remake of the John Wayne classic True Grit.
Halle Berry
The Oscar winner goes swimming with the sharks as she's in talks to star in the ocean-themed action-thriller Dark Tide.
Guy Ritchie
Madge's ex will direct the live-action adaptation of the DC Comic Lobo, following the blue-skinned, motorcycle-driving, alien bounty-hunting antihero who lands on Earth in search of four fugitives.
Rashida Jones
The comic actress will star in the romantic comedy Monogamy with Julie & Julia's Chris Messina.
Jon Favreau
The Iron Man director will team up again with Robert Downey Jr. for a film about ETs in the old West, Cowboys & Aliens.
Sylvester Stallone
With time-tested warhorses like these, who needs new ideas? Following his successful return to the big screen last year, Sylvester Stallone's fifth installment of Rambo has been greenlighted and will begin production next spring. Break out the bandannas.
Daniel Craig
The erstwhile Bond will no doubt be shaken and stirred when he stars as a publishing exec who winds up moving his family into a home that was once the scene of a vicious murder in the psychological thriller Dream House.
Catherine Hardwicke
The original Twilight helmer is swapping vampires for werewolves, signing on to direct a gothic retelling of the classic fairy tale, The Girl With the Red Riding Hood. And fear not, fanggirls—there's gonna be a love triangle, too. Just not necessarily involving anyone who sparkles.
Eva Longoria Parker
The Desperate Housewives actress is tackling her first Spanish-language role, starring in the Mexican movie Day of Grace.
Robert Zemeckis
The Beatles' Yellow Submarine could be getting a visual upgrade as the director hopes to use 3-D motion-capture technology for a redo.
Jon Hamm
The Mad Men star's a gambling man after landing a role playing a character called the High Roller in Zack Snyder's upcoming action-fantasy, Sucker Punch. Vanessa Hudgens and Emily Browning are set to costar.
Robert Redford
Moving from one icon—that'd be Julia Roberts on his arm—to another, the actor-director has set his sights on The Conspirator, a film about a woman who played a part in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
James McAvoy
The sexy Scottish actor will team with Seth Rogen in the comedy I'm With Cancer.
Connor Cruise
Inheriting the family business isn't such a bad thing when Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are your parents. Connor Cruise has landed his second big screen gig, joining the remake of the 1984 action hit Red Dawn. It's due for release Sept. 24, 2010.
