Jesse McCartney has another beautiful soul in his life.
The “Beautiful Soul” singer and wife Katie Peterson welcomed their first baby, a son named Archer James McCartney, last month, the couple confirmed on social media.
"Archer James McCartney took center stage on 5/7/25," they wrote in a joint post on Instagram June 17 alongside adorable snaps of the newborn wearing a custom white onesie. "Our sweet Archie couldn’t wait to meet us and arrived a bit earlier than expected."
The pair went on to provide insight into how their tiny tot has been doing since joining the family.
"We are so in love with him," their message continued. "He loves when mommy reads him a book and when daddy sings him off to sleep."
And Jesse and Katie shared that they're excited to eventually introduce Archer to another member of their family: their pup.
"We look forward to bringing him home very soon to meet his big sister Bailey, who sleeps with his blanket every night," they added. "Enjoy some cute pictures of our little fighter, Archer."
Jesse, 37, and Katie, 37, first announced their pregnancy news to fans while sharing why they had a new Valentine to celebrate on the holiday. In their Feb. 14 post, the couple wore matching pajama sets holding an ultrasound photo, which they captioned, “our lil Valentine.”
For Jesse and Katie, who wed in 2021 after nine years of dating, growing their family has long been part of their plan.
“I look at a lot of my close friends now that have kids," the Summerland star told E! News in March 2024, “and there's so many special moments that they have. Eventually, that's something I definitely want to have.”
In fact, he leaned into it with his and Yung Gravy’s song “Make a Baby,” during which the duo posed with pregnant women during the music video. "We were playing into that quite a bit," Jesse explained to E!. “We knew it would elicit the reaction that it did, cause some commotion on the internet.”
And he admitted that beyond the song, it was part of his journey into parenthood.
"That's the path we're traveling down at this moment," Jesse he shared. "To be clear, we're not pregnant. But it's something we've discussed."
The “How Do You Sleep?” singer and Katie have had their own practice prepping for parenthood: their dog, Bailey, who was even their flower girl in their wedding.
“The general idea of having to keep something alive is very scary to me,” Jesse noted. "We've done a pretty good job with our dog, but it pales in comparison to the responsibility of taking care of a human child.”
Despite his worries, the Dream Street alum knows how supported he is. Jesse shared his gratitude for having his wife be the one by his side as they venture into this next chapter of their lives. "I'd be raising a cave baby," he joked, "so it's a good thing that she's the one that will be raising the child with me."
